West Ham United is one of the clubs interested in signing Loris Karius of Liverpool at a low fee of just £4.5m. The goalkeeper from Germany is best remembered for all his wrong-doings after making two big blunders in the final match of Champions League 2018 when the Reds lost to Real Madrid by 3-1. Just after that match, he was sent to Besiktas, the Turkish side. He has been on a loan at Besiktas since then.
The 26-year-old footballer has made 54 appearances at the Super Lig. Recently, it has been reported that the Turkish side is not interested to sign Loris Karius for a long-term deal because of his mixed performance in Turkey. He has yet again looked far from sticking to one side and the Turkish side is reluctant to pay £7.25m to him which is necessary to make his move permanent.
The Liverpool club perhaps has the world’s best goalkeeper in Alisson Becker and a deputy in Fabian who is capable of handling any situation. But they are now desperate to sell Loris as there is no prospect for him at the club. It is reported that David Moyes is considering his move with West Ham United having a reasonable share of issues regarding goalkeeping this season. Liverpool will also be willing to let go of Karius with a salary under £5m and the Hammers will look forward to snapping him up so that he can play Fabianski’s second fiddle.
There are also chances of them facing competition. However, according to the likes of Anderlecht, the Belgian side and Portugal’s Sporting Lisbon will also monitor the situation. Liverpool signed Karius in 2016 when he was playing for Mainz. But the player did not get the confidence at the club and all the mistakes that he made against Real Madrid sealed his destiny with the Reds who signed Alisson during the summer transfer window.
